Advancing Technology of Ultrasound Equipment at St. Anthony's

The Women in Philanthropy of St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation held their annual spring luncheon where  the decision was made as to how this particular donor society's monies would be allocated at St. Anthony's Hospital.

St. Anthony's Hospital Foundation proudly announced the purchase of the new iLAB™ Ultrasound Imaging System and ULTRA ICE™ PLUS Ultrasound Imaging Catheter for Intracardiac Imaging - intended for ultrasound examinations of intravascular pathology.

According to Boston Scientific:

The iLAB System in a cart-based configurationICE provides the combination of real-time imaging and soft tissue visualization that cannot be duplicated by fluoroscopy, pre-operative imaging (CT or MR), or electroanatomic mapping. Not only can you identify anatomical structures, you can visualize where devices are relative to those structures.

In total, $65,000 will go toward the procurement of this integral component to procedures currently being performed in the Cardiac Catheritization Lab at St. Anthony's Hospital.  Looking ahead to when the expansion of the hybrid operating room is complete, this system will be highly sought-after for more complicated cardiac surgeries that will be done right here at St. Anthony's Hospital.
