2023 Funding Needs

The Foundation offers a internal grant program for all departments in the hospital. Departments submit their needs to the Foundation and, depending on the amount of donations for the year, funds the program or equipment requested. For 2023, this is the list of funding needs. Zeiss Kinevo 900 Microscope

Item: Zeiss Kinevo 900 Microscope
Total Cost: $777,835.29
Need: Surgeons are requesting an updated microscope, which can magnify tissue images to delineate tumors robotically and adjust the arm position to achieve better visualization during tumor removal.

Mini C-Arm

Item: Mini C-Arm
Total Cost: $84,853.80
Need: The Arm is used in fracture procedures, assisting the surgeons by better visualizing the patient’s anatomy for proper fixation of the fracture site.

Music/Paging Audio System

Item: Music/Paging Audio System
Total Cost: $18,920.69
Need: Install Music/Paging Audio System throughout the operating rooms to allow music of the patient’s choice to be played during their surgical procedures. Music therapy has shown to improve the patient’s negative emotions, relieve pain and adjust their physiological state.

InBody Composition Analyzer

Item: InBody Composition Analyzer
Total Cost: $19,267.45
Need: Body composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, lean muscle mass and body fat percentage. This scanner will better assist the weight management team in evaluating their patients. Will serve as an integral component of the SAH comprehensive bariatric surgery program.

Caregiver Wellness Retreat

Item: Caregiver Wellness Retreat
Total Cost: $10,000
Need: Annual retreat for caregivers of dementia patients. The event is held in collaboration with the Memory Disorders Center at St. Anthony’s Hospital, and the Madonna Ptak Center for Alzheimer’s Research and Memory Disorders Clinic at Morton Plant Mease Hospital.

Mammography Voucher Program

Item: Mammography Voucher Program
Total Cost: $16,000
Need: Program provides access for a minimum of 350 women to mammography screenings, diagnostic services, and breast cancer treatment for low income, uninsured women who are not eligible for other programs.

Scholarships (i.e. Earn as you Learn)

Total Cost: Varies
Need: The Foundation grants scholarships to qualified team members. Scholarships are awarded to PharmD, nursing and allied health Team Members to continue their education.
