Care for the Under-insured

Most women can survive breast cancer if it’s detected and treated early. Unfortunately, many women do not have adequate insurance coverage for routine tests such as mammograms. Responding to this need for help, St. Anthony’s Hospital implemented the Mammography Voucher Program. The Mammography Voucher Program provides diagnostic mammograms to low-income women between 30- 49 years of age who are uninsured and do not qualify for other plans.

“At age 44, I was persuaded to get my first mammogram and discovered I had breast cancer. I surely didn’t have the funds to pay for the mammogram, all of the diagnostic testing involved, treatment, and surgery. St. Anthony’s saw me through every step along my journey to recovery. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the Mammography Voucher Program and all of my heroes at St. Anthony’s Hospital.” Michele M.

Transportation and prescription assistance significantly helps the needs of the uninsured and under-insured individuals living in our community to lead healthier lives.

"Sometimes a short ride to a follow up appointment or the small cost of a prescription can keep a patient from getting well if they don't have the means or proper assistance."  - Angie Gregory, Financial Navigator
