A Year End Gift From Your IRA
After years of contributing to tax-deferred IRAs, income tax is due on that money when you take withdrawals in retirement. Annual withdrawals from traditional retirement accounts are required after age 70 ½ ordinarily, but as part of the Covid-19 tax relief package, the RMD has been suspended this year. However, you are still able to take advantage of the Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) provision. This provision in the tax code can potentially reduce your tax bill and enable you to make a generous gift to St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation.
St. Anthony's Hospital New Patient Care Tower On The Rise
As the new patient tower construction continues, the new tower is taking shape. The two large concrete structures in the photo are the new public elevator shaft (on the left) and the stairwell (on the right) and shows the tower’s height. While these are the most visible features currently, the building frame is becoming more apparent.
St. Anthony's Derby Gala Cancelled
When we re-scheduled the Derby Gala to September 5th, to coincide with the re-scheduled Kentucky Derby we fully anticipated that the Coronavirus pandemic would have abated to the degree that social occasions would resume. Unfortunately, the news of late has not been positive and in an abundance of caution, we have decided to cancel the gala this year.
2nd Annual Camp Caregiver
If you’ve ever been a caregiver for someone with dementia, you know it’s easy to become so focused on your loved one that you forget to take care of yourself. Those at the St. Anthony’s Memory Disorders Center saw firsthand the need for respite among caregivers attending their support groups and decided to offer an assist.
