St. Anthony's Team Member Giving Initiative Under Way
“Be Somebody’s Hero,” the St. Anthony’s Hospital Team Member Giving Initiative, officially kicked off last week. Department champions dressed in their distinctive pink shirts will hand out pledge packets to team members interested in supporting the initiative.
The annual initiative runs through Friday, Aug. 6, and is a way for team members to reinvest in St. Anthony’s. Through the annual campaign, team members have donated to the St. Anthony’s Fund for Emergencies, or SAFE; to the United Way; and to the Foundation to fund college scholarships for team members and dependents, purchase newer and more advanced equipment for units and departments throughout the hospital and to help team members attend conferences and seminars.
Pete the Pelican, the Tampa Bay Rowdies mascot, was on hand to take photos with team members. And everyone was treat to a special lunch.
All proceeds raised will be applied to team member continuing education, emergency funds (SAFE), as well as programs such as the Cancer Patient Support Services, free memory screenings and mammograms for women in need at no cost to the patient. The initiative is organized by the St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation.
