Women in Philanthropy members at the St. Petersburg Yacht Club for the 2016 spring luncheon pictured with Bill Ulbricht, St. Anthony’s Hospital President; Sr. Mary McNally, St. Anthony’s Hospital Vice President of Mission Integration; and Robert Sherman, St. Anthony’s Hospital Foundation Executive Director.
The “power of the purse” is realized when thoughtful women combine their annual gift to the foundation with the gifts of others and leverage a meaningful amount of money to advance the mission of the hospital. Members make an annual donation of $1,000 and are invited to vote on how their cumulative donation will be spent to benefit the hospital. Past donations include a gift to the new Emergency Center; fund operations of the Memory Disorders Center, and purchase important biomedical devices including digital imaging equipment for the Susan Sheppard McGillicuddy Breast Center. Since the inception of this unique donor society, over $300,000 has been gifted and directed to improving the health of our community.
Members come together during the winter to designate how their annual gifts will be allocated and in the autumn they are invited to see their gifts at work.
